Who’s Behind Sunflower Dream?

Sunflower Dream was founded by Vanessa Alikhan—a storyteller, dream worker, and creative guide currently completing her graduate studies in Expressive Arts Therapy.

Vanessa has spent years listening: to dreams, to children, to silence, and to the deep stories the body carries. Her work is shaped by motherhood, ancestral memory, spiritual inquiry, and a lifelong practice of artistic expression as healing.

She holds a B.S. in Urban & Regional Planning from Cal Poly Pomona and is completing her graduate degree in Counseling Psychology with a focus in Expressive Arts Therapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies.

Sunflower Dream is not a brand built for mass appeal.
It is a living studio, held with care, for those walking the path of becoming.

Why I Create

I create because I have to.
Because story saved me.
Because joy came back in through my hands, long before it made it to my words.

I create because the world is noisy, and art is how I find the quiet underneath.

I create to offer what I needed: not advice, but presence.
Not perfection, but process.

Everything I offer is a conversation.
Between you and yourself.
Between me and the world.
Between now and the mystery.

I believe in color, in repair, in rooted joy.
And I believe that when we make something real—we remember who we are.
