I painted this to remember what joy feels like.
For two hours, I was in it—fully.
Smiling, soft, alive.
The house felt light. My body felt clear.
Joy was here.
And then a bee stung me in the leg.
Everything spun.
My skin burned. My breath caught.
I had to sit with that, too.
So I did.
And then—I laughed.
This painting is both.
The ease, and the jolt.
The warmth, and the wake-up.
It’s not perfect joy.
It’s real joy.
The kind that stings you back into your body.
Joy doesn’t need to be pristine.
It just needs to be felt.
